Paul D' Olympia
Paul D'Olympia is an exceptional and versatile artist who has resided on Martha's Vineyard for the past 27 years. He is well versed in a multitude of specialized techniques for surface enhancement and stone setting, and is partial to mixing his metals. Often a piece of Paul's will incorporate 18K Gold, 22K Gold, Platinum or Sterling Silver, along with precious and semiprecious stones. A skilled engraver, he will hand engrave a steel plate with an image, then press his metal of choice into the steel, creating an embossed, three dimensional image. Not content with only engraving metal, Paul also hand carves gemstones, creating his own intaglios and cameos for his pieces. He also enjoys free-hand engraving directly onto 18K Gold.
